Do you remember when gaming laptops were a specialist item? The notebooks were sold in insignificant qty’s but each systems had a high profit margin. They were the style of notebook computer that everybody desired, however the cost did not fall in their price range. Plainly being so advanced they were the best laptops in relation to performance. Laptops for gaming would get everyone excited about what’s to released in a few years however I do not think they would buy laptops like this whilst be wary that the price is going to slip quickly. Things seem set to shift though because now the gaming portables market has caught the eye of bigger manufacturers.
These are certainly high margin notebook computers for the large manufacturers and they are aware of it. With such thin margins on other laptops it is no surprise they want to be involved. I’m pretty sure that numerous people would buy laptops if mass marketed by these large manufacturers. I wonder whether this would be the demise of littler resellers? I’m fairly confident that the multinational manufacturers will attempt to push the little ones out. In my opinion if anybodies going to spend a lot of cash the established brand always comes out on top.
To my surprise the brand name gaming laptops are as good or even better than the best laptops available to buy. In my opinion though, this is in fact a source of hope for the local guys in retail. Being able to purchase exactly what parts they desire is a major advantage for most potential customers who are thinking of purchasing a gaming laptop computer. Normally lots of comparisons of the specs will be carried out and the techies can decide what the superior portable actually is. Sometimes the components hold more importance when compared to the aesthetics for these sort of people.
From a customers standpoint this is all a positive thing. This should continue to make the premium technology even more obtainable for the consumer. I predict that with a high degree of doubt though. Prices will probably stay consistently high because there are always new laptops being launched. Seeing as the big brand companies have already begun pushing gaming laptops, I reckon we’ll have to wait to see what develops.

resounding success of Monday’s “National Day of Action,” which drew the backing of hundreds of thousands of protesters across the United States, now are planning a national boycott which they hope will have an even greater resonance.
Organizers are planning the May 1 “Great American Boycott,” urging illegal immigrants — who cannot vote and who have only limited political power — to flex their economic muscle. Protesters are being urged to refrain from shopping, and to stay away from school and work.
You should take a moment to let that sink in.
This is a movement orchestrated by people who entered the US
illegally, and then want to scream about their “rights.” WHAT RIGHTS? YOU DON’T BELONG HERE!
Let’s take a look at some of the many benefits that illegal aliens have blessed our great country with: Street gangs, graffitti, drugs, skyrocketing healthcare, depreciation of property value, illiteracy. The list could go on. What they actually have to offer (cheap labor) pales to what they have given our country to deal with. I’ll take expensive vegetables over expensive healthcare any day!
And now, like terrorists, they are going to attack our economy — the one entity that makes our nation stand out from all the others. The backbone of our nation. The country they came to like locusts so they could reap the benefits is now the focus of their boycott. You’ve seen it on TV: Marching on our American streets waving their Mexican flags, boldly showing that they can be more racist than who they accuse of, and yet the obvious is totally oblivious to them……
IF YOU’VE GOT IT SO BAD HERE, THEN LEAVE!!!
To all the real Americans, you can do one small thing on May 1st, 2006. It won’t be racist, nor will it be violent. It will not be boastful, arrogant, selfish, nor distasteful. It will not be any of those things that our “guests” have already displayed. What it will do is nullify a movement.
All you have to do is buy something on May 1st. Make up for what they will try to take away. It doesn’t have to be a new car or house (unless you were already planning on getting one). It simply needs to be a day of trading.
Hold off grocery buying until May 1st.
Take your wife out to eat that night.
Get the kids pizza, hamburgers, whatever!
Make several trips to the convenience store.
Buy your meals at work.
Fill up your tank.
Shop for clothes, furniture, outdoor equipment.
If it needs to be bought, BUY IT MAY 1st!
Those are just a few suggestions. We’re not asking you to spend your inheritance that day, but just to spend more than you normally would. Even if it’s only a few dollars, this will help soften the blow that the Mexicans will try to inflict on our economy that day. It sounds trivial at first, but if this idea gets around, what the Mexicans set out to do will fail.
NOW COMES THE HARD PART:
This email will not self-destruct if you don’t send it to someone.
It will not cause bad luck, nor will it make you impotent.
It will not do some trick or show a cute little animation if you send it to “X” amount of people.
You will not get paid for doing it.

As you head to the polling booths, you won’t just be voting for elected officials. Chances are, you will also face a dizzying array of voter initiatives… bond measures, special taxes, and proposals to change laws in one way or another. For most of us, the ballot can be quite overwhelming.
Call me nave, but I still like to think that each person’s vote really matters. So before you get tempted to “take the easy way out” and simply copy your spouse/best friend/newspaper/pastor’s voting plans, here is a 5-step guide to analyzing the issues and making voting decisions that reflect your own core values.
- Know Yourself . What is important to you? What are the values that you feel our laws and taxes should reflect? You may care deeply about the environment, education, small business, immigration, taxes, religious issues, or numerous other causes. Vote accordingly.
- Understand the Initiative. Spend some time at home with your voter information booklet. Read the initiative — including the fine print. Re-read it if necessary. What is meant to happen if this initiative passes? What are the arguments for and against it? What are some of the unintended consequences that are likely to happen as a result of this measure?
- Think About the Impact. How will this measure impact the economy, environment, education, transportation, health care, social mores, and your ability to make a living? How will it affect the rich, the poor, the middle class, and any other group or cause that is important to you? Regardless of the voting recommendations of the political party with which you have registered, does this new law or tax reflect your personal values?
- Look Closely at Bond Measures and Taxes. Bond measures and tax changes all tend to be laced with emotion. Proponents often act as though the world as we know it will come to an end if this project isn’t funded through this bond or tax. However, there is no such thing as a “free lunch,” and the money to pay for these initiatives all comes out of someone’s pocket — possibly yours. Ask yourself:
- Is it fair? Does it provide services that are useful to the general public, or are all of the benefits going to be enjoyed by a select few? Does it pay for services that are truly needed and cannot be funded in a more efficient/fair/effective manner? Does it distribute the burden equitably?
- Is it understandable? Can the average person understand that this tax exists, and understand what the money is paying for — or is it disguised as an obscure fee or assessment?
- Is it cost-effective? Does it pay for services that you believe are best provided by government, or does it set up a government bureaucracy for something that is best provided by the private sector?
- Is it good for business and jobs? Does it drive up the cost of business to the point where firms will be forced to lay people off, go out of business or leave the area?
- Make a Decision. Analyze the pros and cons. See how it all stacks up against your own core values. Think about what will be affected if this measure does or does not pass. And then make a decision. The bottom line is: will you, your family, your community, and society as a whole be better off with or without the passing of this initiative?

Washington DC is under a flood watch this week and already many Government Buildings such as the United States Justice Department, The Internal Revenue Service and the National Archives have closed due to flooding with more to follow. All we want from Washington DC is an apology letter, simple as that.
The American People deserve at least that much really. But alas they will not come clean from their corruption in the Nations Capital and Mother Nature is taking that as a sign that more power flushing is needed there.
Why do the politicians waste taxpayers monies? Why do the bureaucrats over regulate small, medium and large businesses in this nation causing bankruptcy, offshoring and over seas outsourcing? Why do Politicians cheat and lie; why do they drive their cars under the influence of drugs, why do they hit cops?
Why do the lobbyists hire male prostitutes? Why does the government attack businesses and fabricate cases? Why is there so much corruption in Washington DC and why must we have to call upon Mother Nature to power flush the podium pushing politicians and blundering bureaucrat buffoons down the Potomac?
Washington DC Still Flooding because the people there will not come clean and the whole place needs a power flushing. So take that and deal with it. Consider all this in 2006.

For a parent who has yet to acquire a cell phone, set the timer on the VCR, or is unaware that most people no longer use VCRs, they may wonder how assistive technology could fit into their lives. After all, you may have never even used a computer much less taught a child how to use one. This is sometimes referred to in the media as “the digital divide,” where due to social, economic or educational circumstances, a person may not have access to technology. Any parent might feel guilty at not being able to provide the very best of everything to their child, but for a parent of a child with a disability, the intimidation factor of assistive technology may add to their feelings of helplessness or inadequacy. Here are a few tips that will help you to demystify AT.
Not all assistive technology devices are computer related. There are high tech, low tech and no tech options. As a person who is blind, one might think my home is outfitted with every technological wonder, and it is. Yet, I find that one of the most useful assistive tools I use is a plastic template called a writing guide. It is simply a notebook-paper sized sheet of plastic with straight edges cut out of it, spaced about a quarter inch apart. The writing guide is clipped to a sheet of paper. I can follow along the straight edge and hand-write my personal correspondence - using a pen. Remember those?
Many assistive devices for children are much more like a cool toy than any whizbang high-end computer. They are fun to play with and easy to learn. They speak, they provide various types of stimulation, and they are specifically geared toward particular developmental or mobility needs.
Where does one go to learn about AT options? I suggest beginning with some reading material, specifically a catalog. There are some wonderful companies that provide independent living aids, assistive and augmentative devices and various mobility products, and many offer print catalogs. Try Maxi Aids: 800-522-6294 (www.maxiaids.com); or Enablemart: 888-640-1999 (www.enablemart.com). These are just two; be aware that there are many others. If you are not computer literate, find a friend who is or go to your local library. Many libraries have workstations for the general public, and if a staff member is available, ask for assistance surfing the web. Jot down a few phone numbers, then call and request that you be added to their mailing list.
Another great place to get tons of information and hands-on demonstrations is at an assistive technology conference. I’m not talking about a regular computer convention or consumer electronics show. There are conferences specifically for AT, with row after row of booths, or even entire wings of convention centers devoted to devices just for children. Even if you think yourself pretty tech-savvy, you’ll be astounded at the array of gadgets and gizmos that benefit people of all ages in their day-to-day lives.
There are four major assistive technology conferences each year, and a number of smaller ones. Among the most attended is a conference held in Los Angeles and hosted by California State University, Northridge. Another major event is held in Orlando, Florida. If you begin to suffer from information overload as a result of your conference experience, you will probably be able to find an entertaining alternative.
While conference attendance is open to the public, you should know that registration is not cheap; however, you may be able to get a sponsor, apply for a grant or scholarship (I have personally benefited from one of these), or find a club or service organization to fund your trip. It is well worth it. You’ll be educated, inspired and very motivated to learn even more. It’s a thrill to realize suddenly how some otherwise uninteresting technological gadget can directly benefit your child in a real way.
One of the most formidable barriers to assistive technology is the cost. It’s a niche market. None of the technology vendors are selling millions of these devices; however, there are ways around that. There are innumerable charitable organizations that can help with the expense of adaptive and assistive devices. Additionally, there are government programs and vendor financing programs. The good news is, unlike typical consumer products, AT devices have a longer life in that you are seldom required to upgrade to a newer version every few months. If it works now, it will work later. Yes, there are always newer products, but the latest thing may not be useful at all, especially since it may prove to be a frustrating additional learning process for a child already accustomed to the device they are using. For a child with a disability, routine, consistency and familiarity are crucial developmental factors.
Take your time while evaluating these products. As in every other industry, there is a new vocabulary associated with assistive technology. Keep an open mind, but do not allow anyone to talk you into buying anything about which you have doubts. You are the authority on your child, and you know best the types of stimuli to which your child will respond well. The education gained by both you and your child will provide a quality bonding and growth experience that will enhance your lives in wonderful ways you have yet to imagine.

Nowadays poker players are treated as celebrities, however this was not always so. In 1834 an early reference to poker was documented calling it the “cheating game”, for one of the main strategies of the game is to deceive the opponents. Back in the day poker was associated with drinking and violence, and the players were mostly local troublemakers. Saloons all over the United States contained poker tables, and gambling was a common pastime among men.
Over the year, and more recently, poker players have began to be viewed as stars. Fans can follow stories about their favorite players either in poker magazines or on the many poker websites available on the web. The big name poker players have been known to endorse products such as sunglasses, energy drinks, hotels and poker sites. Representatives of many popular brands are on a search for poker stars to be the face of their products.
