Television from America’s Fastest-Growing HDTV Company
Vizio Inc. based out of Irvine, California prides itself as perhaps the biggest seller of flat panel televisions in North America. Their motto is “Where Vision Meets Value” and matches their retailing strategy by partnering with outlets such as Wal-Mart, Sears, Dell and Costco, to name a few.
Recently, they brought to the market the Vizio XVT LCD HDTV in the form of two 42″, two 47″ and one 55″ model. Manufacturers’ Suggested Retail Prices range from a low of $1,049.99 to a high of $1,999.99 for the 55″ model.
One of the unique features that are available in these models is a refresh rate of 120Hz which is twice as fast as the normal 60Hz rate found on other models. The result is a smooth and fluid natural picture with life-like detail. Also provided are SRS Labs sound technologies that enhance the listening experience.
Each of the models has an integrated tuner and 1080p television viewing format which is full HDTV. All of the major computer formats are supported, as well.
The 42″ and 47″ Vizio models have an available option of the WSS-1A Surround Sound Upgrade that adds Dolby Digital 5.1 Wireless Surround Sound. While the system is not totally wireless (the wall-mountable satellite speakers are wired), the subwoofer is wireless and may be placed up to 35′ away from the television.
One of the unique claims that this company makes is that it operates with a small group of 100 employees. It is their belief that it makes them more responsive to the market and able to adapt more quickly than larger organizations. Their past performance speaks for itself and the North American television buyer will determine its future. It would appear that the Vizio XVT LCD HDTV is a product that will continue their success.
