Check the Level, Take Action and Date

Look, I’m not the kind of eligible guy, habitually accustomed to sitting at home alone on a Friday night. I’d wager readers have never read me post about great dating and compatibility. No surprise.

Helplessness is an unfortunate popular feeling and intentionally neglected in my man programming (man-gramming?). However, There’s no point avoiding it, I had to escape from a worthwhile fling which meant a lot for us but essentially wasn’t meant to be. So one could tell ya its been a good since I dated someone new. I don’t hold the great expectations for dating that came naturally before.

Living free and single isn’t bad. One thing is for sure, I won’t be reduced to stay in faithfully binging on Jack Bauer (from 24) reruns. The number one cause of this case of fresh break-up dating lameness? The people I know are settling down, and everyone else is boring.

My take-no-holds football friend, Jim, who will never have dating boredom, sympathized because he is currently shooting from the same blind as I am. He signed up for Great Expectations Phoenix. A bit out of character, but I enjoy chatting up new women around my age. Go figure, I got real about my dating life and I’m now a satisfied member.

I told myself, ya can’t feel down by going dateless when ya haven’t picked up the phone. As our senior year soccer coach Paul Kniffen told me when his wife wasn’t looking, “If you don’t run you can’t score, son.”

So he was divorced 4 times. However, the man was on the money in a round about way. He was likable in all ways. The care-free Dallas matchmaking service I joined definitely would have overloaded his mind.

At great expectations singles events I talked to a few accomplished and attractive women that hold my interest. I actually had a blast with a few indisputably well-situated people. I ducked out of the mixer a little early following a promising exchange of numbers, and as a plus, I came across some social networking connections for my job. Very cool.
